A new outlet
So I was sitting in Large Corporate Coffeehouse today and thinking about Mighty Girl's new book, "I don't care what you had for lunch." I'm definitely going to pick up that book. I've been thinking about how I want to write, what I want to write, outside of what I write about my daughter. It's not that it's limiting, really; I could say anything because it's up to me, but there's a certain expectation about the tone and contents. As I opened my sandwich (and in the spirit of the M.G.'s book, I won't mention what kind), I noticed an ingredient, "baby oat flakes." I thought, "that's a good name -- it has no meaning, really, no weight, but it holds...the...bread...together? Is that, like, a metaphor?" Jesus. Okay, enough of this for now, but I'll be back.
